In this video, we’re going to install Drupal core using Simplytest.me. We'll install both Drupal 7 and Drupal 8 and see how "Permanent URLs" work to quickly select a project version.

In order to test Drupal:

  • Simply go to simplytest.me
  • Type “Drupal” into the project field
  • Select “Drupal core”
  • Select the version you want to install
  • Click “Launch sandbox”

That’s it!

Alternatively, you can use the “Permanent URL” format simplytest.me/project/drupal. If you’d like a specific version of Drupal, you can specify that in the URL as well. For Drupal 7.20 it would be simplytest.me/project/drupal/7.20 and for Drupal 8, it would be simplytest.me/project/drupal/8.x. This can save you a few clicks and get you up and running even faster!
