This video shows how to configure the toolbar. It demonstrates both adding and removing buttons, as well as configuring language settings.

Plugins

CKEditor can be enhanced with plugins. Modules can add plugins, and you can even create your own custom plugins, but that’s beyond the scope of this tutorial, and we’re going to leave the options at the default, and only enable the “Plugin for inserting Drupal teaser and page breaks.”

Toolbar state on startup

The toolbar can be collapsed, and this option sets whether it should be expanded (visible) or collapsed (hidden) by default.

Editor width

By default, the editor width is set to %100 percent. You may want to set it to a specific pixel width, or just a different percentage width for your site. You can set that here.

Language

I speak english, and since I’ll be the only content editor, I’ll leave the CKEditor ui set to english.

Auto-detect language

I’ve never changed this, but from what I could find, this detects the user’s browser language and, if different from the language chosen above, will set the language for the CKEditor user interface to match the user’s browser.

Language direction

This is the language direction for the content area of the wysiwyg. (The two options above control the interface, but not the content area.) As noted in the help text, if you need to use both LTR and RTL at the same time, make sure you enable the BidiLtr and BidRtl buttons in the toolbar (they are the ones with the paragraph symbol and an arrow pointing either left or right.)
